Kathryn Wegler

Employee Engagement Coordinator

Gardner Builders


Kathryn is the Employee Engagement Coordinator at Gardner Builders, a hospitality company in the commercial construction business located in Minneapolis. 
She most recently worked as Talent Resources Coordinator at Minnesota Children's Museum, where she coordinated all volunteers and interns. She is a strong proponent of internships and experiential learning, and her career path began with a HR/Volunteer Management internship at the Guthrie Theater.

She received her certificate of Volunteer Leadership from the Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration in 2015, and volunteered as a MAVA Trainer, training volunteer management professionals in the essential elements of leading volunteers.

Rachel holds a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Environmental Studies from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She has experience as an AmeriCorps VISTA at a refugee resettlement agency in Phoenix, Arizona and has worked in various capacities at Washburn Center for Children, a children's mental health agency, since 2010.

She has a passion for nonprofit work and finds great satisfaction in providing opportunities for all levels of learners to explore career options.

In her spare time, you can find her biking, gardening, reading, or dabbling in crafts.

Cassie holds a B.S. in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from Walden University.

She has experience in higher education as an Academic Advisor (2 years), Field Education Coordinator (7 years) and most recently as Associate Director of Field Experience (2+ years).  Cassie has a passion for higher education and loves helping students reach their educational goals! 

In her free time, Cassie enjoys spending time with her 8-year-old son, going to the beach, reading, or relaxing with friends and family.

We have positions available on a regular basis and are always looking for driven people who are excited about MAFEL’s work. Most positions are a two-year commitment, allowing you to develop leadership skills and make a strong impact on the organization. The time commitment is 5-10 hours per month.
